Again on route, this time to the Club show of Switzerland. there were two reason to go, Durban needed one more CAC to become junior Champion and the other and most important was the judge! I have always wanted to be under a judgement of Mrs.Linda Costa ( I think it is a must if you have a Rhodesian Ridgeback) but as she lives in Australia is not easy neither often to have her in Europe judging. This time she has come to Switzerland so it was a distance quite affordable to make for me. Who is not familiar with Mrs.Linda Costa, her kennel name is SARULA, she lived in Zimbabwe but she moved to Australia, where she currently lives. She is the writer of the book Rhodesian Ridgeback Pioneers and of course, I carried my copy to get it signed by Linda!!!
My mother has come with me this time and we visited Bern the day before the show, it is a lovely place to visit, although it was very cold -3 degrees at 8 in the morning and 0-1 degrees at midday. Durban needed her coat to be warm, but she has also enjoyed the old city and people. More photos at the end as first I am going to explain the show :)
Bern old town views from the bridge First of all, the dog show. We wake up early on Sunday to travel to the Swiss Dog Show arena, about 15 minutes from Bern. It is such a lovely place and perfect to make dog events. I wish we had something similar in Spain. Really really amazing! It has its own indoor parking, then you go upstairs and find a big arena perfect for agility, shows... The ring was a really big one, I think they said 20x20 meters and around it was plenty of room to put the crates... really comfortable place, and it was also a little restaurant where you could have breakfast or lunch. Idilic place!

Nice presents for the winners.
Presents and catalog for all the exhibitors. At 9:30 started the judgement of the males, pause to have lunch from 11:30 to 12:30 and at 12:30 the judgement of the females. I have enjoyed a lot the judgement of Linda Costa. I reafirm, you have to go at least one time under her judgement! When it cames the junior females class, Durban was ready! There were 3 junior females in the class. Durban has performed nicely and although it is difficult to make her stand still she has done it quite well and finally was Durban the selected for the 1st place with CAC!!! What a big honour for Durban to have achieved the last CAC for the Switzerland Junior Championship from the hands of Linda Costa!!!
