This year I was not sure whether or not to attend the French Club Show, but I love the event and atmosphere and of course I can meet with some friends so I decided to attend with Cosmo and Phoebe. First stop, of course Millau.
On Saturday, as always, it's time for the Nationale d'Élevage with 106 Ridgebacks under the judge Mrs. Sandra Piscedda (Murenga kennel from Italy). It's the first year with such big entry. And on Sunday, at the Special with 82 Ridgebacks under the judge Mrs. Monika Tusanová (Tusani kennel from Slovakia). SATURDAY - NATIONALE D'ELEVAGE We arrived early on Saturday morning to instal the camp under shadow as it was going to be a sunny and warm day. And the judgement started at 8:30. The baby, puppy, veterans and champions were judged by another judge Beatrice Passin (Salines de Monts kennel from France). Below you can see some of the winners of the classes, sorry but I don't have all the photos as I was talking with friends and I missed some. CAC male winner We had a pause between the males and females for having lunch and people could socialize too and congratulate the winners of the moment. I must say that always there is a nice atmosphere. Ale training with Chispa. Then the judgement of the females started with the Junior class. So it was the turn of Phoebe and me. It was a quite big entry 11 junior females. Junior class females MOLEMA MUA ROO DARK MIRAGE - Exc 1 and FRENCH JUNIOR CHAMPION!!! Intermediate class females Our friend Elizabeth could not run because an injury, so Ale handled Chispa. Open class females CAC female winner of our friend Elisabetta Grande Now that all the classes were judged, the best male and best female had to be chosen. So, I entered with Phoebe for Best female. From left to right, Junior female, Champion female and CAC female. And I couldn't believe but Phoebe ended as Best Female of the Nationale d'Elevage, but we still had to go to Best in Show and compete against the Best male. Phoebe is a result of our work together since we meet in 2004 at the European Dog Show of Barcelona, when Vulcan and Phalana were both RCACIB!! She is a Molema Mua Rôo on her name but she is also a Merigal's.
At night we went to have dinner and celebrate the wins of our dogs. A video of both days:
SUNDAY - NATIONAL DOG SHOW OF CHATELGUYON SPÉCIALE DU RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK
On Sunday, there was the Rhodesian Ridgeback Special with the judge Mrs. Monika Tusanova. We also arrived early as we had to park the car and as it was the National Dog Show with more than 1423 entries, there were a lot of people. The judging started at 9:30. Open class males The individual judgement of Cosmo Open Class males FrJCh. Porto W'22 Molema Mua Rôo Marsabit - Exc 3 Junior females Individual judgement of Phoebe Molema Mua Rôo Dark Mirage - Exc 1 and Best Junior Female We had to compete again for Best female, this time the champion and CAC female were different from the previous day but Phoebe also was again selected as Best Female. I couldn't believe it, again Best female!!! Well now it was the turn of Best of Breed against the Best Male. But this time was the male who got the Best of Breed and Phoebe got the Best of Opposite Sex. Well I have no words about the results of Phoebe, she is only 11 months old and to win the BIS at a Club Show is not easy and of course almost repeat the same result the following day with other judge is just amazing. BOB - RANGI YA MAISHA RACKHAM OF LIL’TOFFEE BOS - MOLEMA MUA ROO DARK MIRAGE Judge Mrs.Monika Tusanová (Sk) The judge Monika Tusanová wanted to greet Elizabeth and take a picture with her. She wanted to thank her work and also that the first Ridgeback that went into Slovakia came from her kennel, Merigal's Elanda.
We had to go to the finals of Juniors of the National Dog Show in the afternoon. It was quite warm and the main ring was under the sun with ALMOST no shadows at all, but Phoebe did great and finished as BEST JUNIOR IN GROUP 6. BEST JUNIOR IN GROUP 6 MOLEMA MUA ROO DARK MIRAGE Judge M. R. Favre
It was supposed that we had to spend the night at Béziers but we ended so late at the show and we were so tired. That we cancelled the hotel in Béziers and stayed one more night at Riom. Of course we went to have dinner with our friends that also stayed in Riom till Monday.
I must say that I am amazed about this show weekend. To win a BEST IN SHOW at the BREED CLUB SHOW is a dream, what makes it special is that you have a judge who is specialist in the breed as he/she is a breeder itself of the breed, so the opinion is quite relevant. This weekend not only we had the Club Show but also a Special Show, so both judges were specialist and also breeders themselves of the breed. To win with Phoebe both days is... well I have no words... Special, Amazing, Unbelievable, Extraordinary because she is only 11 months old!!! MOLEMA MUA RÔO DARK MIRAGE The trophies of the weekend.
